Exceed TurboX Keyboard Utility ============================== This keyboard utility allows administrators to modify existing keyboard files. Keyboard files are text files that define the X Protocol Key Symbols (Keysyms), which are mapped to keys on your keyboard. Modified keyboard file would have mappings of keys customized, and would replace old keyboard files. Modified .kbf files must be manually copied to all the Connection Nodes. Note: If old keyboards files have been replaced with new keyboards files from the Connection Nodes, administrators must ensure that any new node also contains these new keyboard files. Otherwise, sessions may failed to be launched or a session may launch with different keyboard input configured. Procedure to edit a keyboard file (.kbf) **************************************** 1. Download ETX DVD image from the Knowledge Center or locate its physical copy. You may also contact your Rocket Customer Support representative. 2. Copy the Utilities\Keyboards\Xkeys folder to hard drive. Otherwise, you cannot get Help content for the Xkeys utility. 2. Locate the xkeys.exe file. 3. Launch xkeys.exe. 4. From the File menu, open a keyboard file of your choice (i.e., select Open, navigate to Utilities --> Keyboards --> keyboard folder, and then select and open a file you wish to modify). When you open a .kbf file, the keyboard editor user interface is displayed. 5. Modify the file, using the commands and options in the keyboard editor. For more details, refer to the XKeys utility Help file. 6. Save the file. 7. Copy the new file saved to each Connection Nodes. Do so by replacing an existing .kbf file, under the conf\keyboard folder. If you fail to do so, or, in the future, fail to copy the file to new nodes, sessions may fail to be launched.
